New Online Option For Civic Awards
Nominations
19 September 2012
For Immediate Release
Nominations for the Hamilton’s Civic Awards can be made online for the first time. The annual awards celebrate significant contributions made to the city and the community by Hamilton residents. Up to 20 awards are bestowed on the recipients by the Mayor in a special ceremony in the Hamilton City Council Chamber. “The awards recognise Hamiltonians who have made a significant contribution to our city in various fields of work, from voluntary roles, business or sport to professional and educational accomplishments. It is wonderful to be able to acknowledge and thank Hamiltonians who have done something special for our city,” says Mayor Hardaker. “The introduction of a new online nomination form makes it quicker and easier to nominate worthy people.”
Nominations are now open, and the online entry forms can be found via the Popular Links page at www.hamilton.co.nz. People who want to make a written nomination should contact Civic Events Co-ordinator Tracey Wood on 07 838 6981 for information.
Nominations close on 24 October, with awards to be bestowed on recipients on 14 December.
