Spring “snapshot” out this week

The West Coast District Health Board this week releases its fourth Report to the Community, a newsletter giving a snapshot of the latest that’s happening in the health system on the West Coast.

The Report details some of the ways the West Coast health sector is working collaboratively to improve on health priority areas, and via The West Coast Messenger, goes to every household on the Coast.

David Meates, West Coast DHB chief executive, says it is a DHB priority to keep Coasters well informed about developments in health service delivery across the Coast.

“In this issue, we’re taking a closer look at how allied health services are working together to provide a range of services to support the whole person and their family.

“Technological advances are breaking down the geographical barriers, particularly for General Practice and oncology care. We look at how telehealth links are bringing specialists to the right place at the right time for optimum outcomes.

“We are pleased to be able to share some personal examples of how health initiatives promoted throughout the Coast are having a positive impact on the lives of Coasters.

“Our priorities focus on delivering the right care, at the right place, and at the right time, within our budget, and in collaboration with other health service providers. We aim to fulfil the Government’s initiative of providing Better, Sooner, More Convenient health services — services that are closer to home that will help to make West Coasters healthier.”

It also contains an opportunity for feedback, through community@westcoastdhb.health.nz or to Community Relations, PO Box 387, Greymouth 7840.
