SCIRT construction to sponsor 2013 World Buskers Festival

Tuesday, 16 October, 2012

SCIRT construction companies principal sponsor 2013 World Buskers Festival

SCIRT, the Stronger Christchurch Infrastructure Rebuild Team, today announced it will again be the principal sponsor of the 2013 World Buskers Festival, following the successful event in January this year.

SCIRT general manager Duncan Gibb says the organisation’s five construction delivery teams see sponsoring the festival as a way of supporting Christchurch and Canterbury.

“Funding from these five SCIRT* partners – Downer, City Care, Fulton Hogan, McConnell Dowell and Fletcher Construction –will help us all celebrate the city we are rebuilding together,” he said.

“SCIRT draws upon a huge amount of goodwill from the residents of Christchurch, business owners and road users as we rebuild our infrastructure. We know that people have to plan ahead and be patient at our work sites as they travel across the city.

“The festival sponsorship is a huge thank-you to everyone for their patience. It reminds us that people are at the heart of this rebuild and that we need to enjoy our city as we rebuild it. The Buskers Festival is a live link to the city as it was and as it will be.”

The 2013 SCIRT World Buskers Festival will be in Hagley Park from 17-27 January, the city’s 20th such event.

This is the second year SCIRT’s construction partners have been the festival’s principal sponsor.
