Police drop charge against one of grave desecration accused

Police have today advised one of the accused involved in the recent Jewish graves desecration investigation that the charge against him will be withdrawn as there is insufficient evidence to carry a robust prosecution.

However, the prosecution against the other two defendants will continue.

Police advised Nathan Symington they would be seeking to formally withdraw the charge of intentional damage at his next court appearance but reiterated to Mr Symington the events and circumstances that led to the laying of the charge.

As related matters are still before the Court, Police are unable to make further comment at this stage. The next scheduled court date for this matter is 13November 2012.
