Proposed parking change for
Dungarvon
Proposed change
to car parking restrictions in Dungarvon Street will be
considered by the Wanaka Community Board at this month’s
meeting.
The extension of the New World Supermarket car park and changes to the entrance has resulted in a reduction in the number of car parks on the east-side of the street and following community requests, a proposal has been made to change the remaining car parks from P120 to P30.
QLDC transport service engineer David Knowles said the proposal would bring parking in that area in line with the rest of the CBD.
“By changing the restrictions on these parks, we’re making them consistent with the rest of the town centre,” he said.
Mr Knowles said adjacent business owners had been consulted and were supportive.
The Wanaka Community Board meets on Tuesday 13 November, if the proposal is supported the changes will be implemented prior to Christmas.
