Emergency Services Open Day Heading to Albany

Emergency Services Open Day Heading to Albany

Get ready for a day out like no other: Staying Alive: Emergency Services and Volunteer Open Day is coming to Albany on Saturday 1 December.

Supported by Westfield Albany, Staying Alive is a celebration of the work our New Zealand Fire Service, New Zealand Police, St John ambulance, and Civil Defence and emergency service rescue teams do on a daily basis.

Emergency services professionals will showcase their skills at this exciting educational event which will include exhilarating displays of road crash rescue re-enactments, airport striker demos, police dog training routines, rural fire fighting shows and airport crash fire exhibitions.

Fire-fighters will be stationed on car park entrances collecting gold coin donations with all money raised going to the Burns Support Group Charitable Trust.

In the midst of all the action look out for the arrival of a special visitor from the North Pole who will be ‘dropping in’ to the main stage at the Albany Lakes Civic Park from 1.00pm.

At 6pm, entertainment provided by Westfield Albany will kick off with a star-studded line up including chart-topping Kiwi boy band Titanium, J Williams and Brooke Duff.

The Westfield Albany outdoor Christmas tree will be lit at 9pm, before the grand finale; Westfield’s famous fireworks display lighting up the Albany skyline for the fifth year running.
