BIG little City Clip puts Auckland on the Digital Map

What makes a city tick?

Answering this, Auckland’s BIG little City today launched “A Day In the Life of the BIG little City”, a digital video taking people on a journey of the central city – showcasing the people, places and unique culture that has made Auckland one of the most liveable cities in the world.

This clip shows a fresh and vibrant perspective on all aspects of Auckland’s central city, with an emphasis on the diverse cultural disposition and individuality of the people that are proud to call Auckland home.
Cities have to behave and function differently and to a different beat. They have to represent diversity and breadth – they are experiential.

During working hours it has a population equivalent to the fourth largest city in New Zealand.

Our central city is rapidly changing in response to this.

Auckland is bounded by one of the most spectacular urban harbours in the world and eclectic and gritty arts and creative sector, two universities and a two generous parks form boundaries to the east and west.

Auckland’s public art installation features throughout the video, from commissioned sculptures decorating the waterfront, to the colourful street art injecting personality into the back streets, this distinct array of art communicates that Auckland is a city that celebrates creativity.

A smorgasbord of Auckland’s fine dining restaurants and colourful cafes serve up an array of culinary delights, in a sequence that flaunts our rich dining culture and world-class eateries. From local designers, to top international labels, the central city showcases all new season trends to help you enjoy what this truly fashionable city has to offer.
