Be part of the Pukeiti story

Be part of the Pukeiti story

19 November 2012

Taranaki people are being given another opportunity to become part of the story of iconic Pukeiti.

A volunteer recruitment session on Saturday (24 November) is aimed at those interested in becoming more involved with the 360 ha property that features one of the world’s most diverse collections of rhododendrons, nestled in a unique rainforest setting.

The recruitment session will run from 11am to 1pm and lunch will be provided. It is essential to register for attendance. Email georgie.williams@trc.govt.nz or call 0800 736 222 and ask for Georgie.

“We’ll show people around Pukeiti, brief them on its history and explain how they can be involved as volunteers,” says the Taranaki Regional Council’s Regional Gardens Manager, Greg Rine. “Pukeiti has an intriguing past and an exciting future. It has something for everyone – garden enthusiasts, nature-lovers, history buffs, or simply families wanting a place to relax and explore with the children. Volunteers play an important role in enhancing the experience for visitors.”

Pukeiti, Tupare and Hollard Gardens are owned and managed by the Taranaki Regional Council on behalf of the people of the region.
