Palmerston North Police are asking for the assistance of the public in locating the where-abouts of the following person.

Alec Morgan Ragan was last seen at his Terrace End Palmerston North address on the 19th of November 2012. Alec has been in New Zealand undertaking missionary work.

Alec is a 20 year old male European from the state of Utah in the United States of America. He is of a thin build and stands at about 173cm in height. Alec has short tidy blond/mousey brown hair.

It is unknown what Alec is currently wearing.

Anyone with any information of where Alec is, or of any sightings of Alec is asked to contact their nearest Police station.

Basically, the courts said that the Government had to pay family members who looked after people with disabilities (because not doing so was discriminatory), so the Government passed this law to say: “Yeah nah.”

The RIS isn’t just redacted for the public – it was redacted for MPs. *Parliament* voted on this, with all the relevant facts blacked out.

Sure, it’s understandable, right? If you’re passing a law that’s really dodgy, you don’t want advice from civil servants saying “uh, this is pretty illegal” to be public. But actually, that’s not really a problem here, because in the same piece of legislation, THEY SAID THEY CAN’T BE TAKEN TO COURT. More>>
