Fatal crash Te Rapa, Waikato

Fatal crash


An elderly female was killed in a crash on the corner of Te Rapa Rd and Avalon Dr, Hamilton at about 1230 hours 25/12/12. Four other passengers were in the vehicle. Three of those passengers were uninjuried and one passenger recieved a minor injury.

The other vehicle involved left the scene but has been located.

Enquiries are in progress to identify the identity of the driver.

Hamilton police update a more detailed media release shortly.

The ministry says the business has failed to recruit and retain quality staff – and says the kaimahi (caregivers) that have been employed are seriously unsuitable for the job, lacking basic knowledge. But Te Roopu Taurima o Manukau doesn’t get all the blame. The report says there’s a significant gap under disability laws to ensure there’s oversight by qualified clinical professionals. More>>
