Motor cycle crash near Owaka

Motor cycle crash

At about 7.00pm on Wednesday the 26 December 2012 a 16 year old Owaka Youth has died in a motor bike crash on a farm at Marks Bay in the Chaslands.

He was riding with two friends when he has not been able to stop the motorbike from going over a very steep cliff. He received extensive injuries from the fall which is estimated to be about 150 metres.

More details may be available once next of kin have been advised after 0900 hours on the 27/12/12

Reshuffle: PM Announces Changes To Ministerial Portfolios

Prime Minister Bill English today announced the appointment of Gerry Brownlee as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nathan Guy as Minister of Civil Defence, Nikki Kaye as Minister of Education and Mark Mitchell as Minister of Defence.

The changes follow the resignations from Cabinet of Hekia Parata and Murray McCully.
