Motor cycle crash
7.00pm on Wednesday the 26 December 2012 a 16 year old Owaka
Youth has died in a motor bike crash on a farm at Marks Bay
in the Chaslands.
He was riding with two friends when he
has not been able to stop the motorbike from going over a
very steep cliff. He received extensive injuries from the
fall which is estimated to be about 150 metres.

Contemporary numbers are estimated at 3,000-4,000 in Wellington, and 10,000-15,000 in Auckland. Newspaper reports from the 1970s and 80s estimated Wellington turnouts at 300-800, and Auckland at anywhere from 600 to 4,000. More>>
