Body confirmed as that of missing woman

Christchurch Police have confirmed that the body found this morning in Bottle Lake Forest Park is that of missing German woman Britta Kappel.

Detective Inspector Dave Long says there is no indication of any suspicious circumstances, and the death will now be referred to the Coroner.

Ms Kappel was reported missing from Christchurch yesterday [29 January]. Search and rescue personnel had been searching in the Bottle Lake Forest Park overnight and this morning.
