Invercargill
Police are investigating the sexual assault of an 8 year old
girl at Oreti Beach, Southland, on Saturday 2nd February
2013 at approximately 4.00 p.m.
The incident occurred in
the sand dunes approximately 50 metres south of the main
entrance to the beach.
There were a large number of people
present at the beach at this time and Police are asking for
the assistance of members of the public who were in this
area to please contact them.
The Officer in charge
,Detective Don Ward believes the male suspect was seen by
children playing in this area at the time the assault
occurred.
