Proposed Milk Formula Plant for Pokeno
The Waikato District Council is waiting to receive an application to build a new milk processing plant in Pokeno.
Yashili New Zealand Dairy Company Limited announced today that it had entered into a conditional agreement to buy industrial land in Pokeno for a proposed infant milk formula plant pending Overseas Investment Office approval.
The council anticipates receiving the application for necessary resource consents later this month.
Regulatory general manager, Nath Pritchard said once the application was received it would be reviewed and then processed in the normal way.
“One of the first
steps would be a pre-application meeting with the
applicants,” he said.
