Wanted men arrested this morning
Canterbury police have this morning arrested two wanted men in separate operations.
In Christchurch, a 19-year old Christchurch man was arrested at approximately 10.00am in relation to the aggravated robbery of an Ilam dairy on Thursday night.
The man had been identified by a member of the Police from CCTV images published yesterday, and officers this morning went to a Bryndwr address where the man was arrested without incident.
He will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Monday on charges of assault with intent to rob, in relation to the incident in which a shop worker was attacked with a length of wood.
In the other operation this morning, Timaru Police and the armed offenders squad arrested 20-year old Aiden Hamilton, who was wanted on a parole recall warrant and in relation to burglary charges.
Police located Hamilton at a residential address in West End, Timaru, as a result of ongoing enquiries. He was arrested without incident at approximately 10.15 this morning.
He is being transferred to Christchurch and will appear in the Christchurch District Court on Monday on charges of burglary and breach of bail.
