Offender Arrested in Hamilton

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 56 year old Hamilton male with Assault with Intent to Rob after an incident on Saturday 16th February at the Five Cross Roads Lotto Shop, Peachgrove Road, Hamilton.

The offender entered the store at about 4.20pm and presented a pistol while demanding money from the lone store owner.  The owner called Police and fled the store. The offender then left the store and fled the scene on foot having taken nothing from the store.

Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the offence.

The male will appear in the Hamilton District Court on February 18th, 2013.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident are asked to contact the Hamilton Police.
