Fatal Fall At Team Building Day

Full description:

Police are investigating the tragic death of a 57 year old male who has fallen to his death while attending a team building fun day at Treetops Adventures, Woodhill, Auckland.

A Doctor and an Advanced Paramedic were participants on the course nearby and rushed to assist the male. The male has died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

OSH attended the scene and are working closely with Treetop Adventures to investigate how the the incident has occurred.

Victim support have been involved and are supporting the deceased's family and work colleagues.

New Zealand’s low refugee intake is not a new issue. In February a NZ Herald editorial commented that our intake was ‘paltry’, remarking that ‘surely we could do more’. In April, Amnesty International described the quota as ‘tiny'.

“Despite being a small country in the middle of the South Pacific, New Zealand prides itself on being hospitable. We are friendly to overseas visitors and we see ourselves as punching above our weight in international affairs,” said Murdoch Stephens, coordinator of Doing Our Bit.
