Shooting in Ngaruawahia
police are investigating a shooting which resulted in the
death of a Ngaruawahia man overnight.
Sergeant Ross Patterson of Waikato CIB said "the 22-year-old
victim had been out drinking with some friends and when he
returned home a firearm was discharged causing the fatal
Witness interviews and a scene examination will
take place today so that we can try and piece together what
has happened in this unfortunate event".
"We are not
looking for anyone else in relation to terrible tragedy and
it is a timely reminder that alcohol and firearms are not a

Sure, it’s understandable, right? If you’re passing a law that’s really dodgy, you don’t want advice from civil servants saying “uh, this is pretty illegal” to be public.
