Title: Crime Show Helping To Identify Tauranga
Offender
Police in Tauranga are hoping that an appeal on TV crime show Police Ten-7 will lead to the identification of a man who assaulted a shop worker during a failed robbery.
The incident occurred on Monday 4, March just after 7am when the man entered a convenience store on Cameron Road.
He was armed with a large piece of timber which he used as a weapon to strike the store worker while demanding cash and cigarettes. He then left the store empty-handed.
On Thursday night (21 March) at 7.30pm on TV2, Detective Constable Dwayne Morgan will be shown walking presenter Graham Bell through the events on that day.
Police are hoping this information coupled with clear security footage of the offender will bring forward more witnesses and an identity for the offender.
Anyone with information about this crime in the meantime is asked to contact Tauranga Police Station on 07 577 4300.
