Online Webinar Series for National Volunteer Week
Volunteering New Zealand is hosting five (5) webinars during National Volunteer Week on the following topics: Resourcing the community with partners; Reo, the Language of Volunteering in Aotearoa; Recognition & Rewards; Reimbursing Volunteers; and Rights of the Volunteer.
Webinars and online courses are shaping learning capabilities for the community and voluntary sector.
VNZ Chief Executive Vanisa Dhiru explains the topics selected are typical of information many organisations and volunteers ask about.
“This is the beginning of a new way of promoting and sharing conversations and information on volunteering topics by VNZ.
“It is important for organisations like us that build capability in the community sector to be innovative and online” says Vanisa.
Following the success of the other online webinar launches of the Best Practice Guidelines and Competencies of Managers of Volunteers, VNZ has decided to capitalise on a huge learning audience online.
“Co-ordinating national training is expensive and time consuming. Many organisations we work with only bring people together for training in person once or twice a year, or even once every two years. VNZ knows keeping up with changes and on-going learning is important to all people and organisations that involve volunteers”.
“Demonstrating how organisations can connect with each other will help springboard ideas into how people engage with the next generations through volunteering”.
To register for any five of the webinar topics held daily at 10.30am starting on Monday 17 June during National Volunteer Week, go to: www.volunteeringnz.org.nz/2013/nvw2013-webinar-series
National Volunteer runs from Sunday 16 June to Saturday 22 June 2013.
