Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival, the portal to Joyville!
The annual Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival started over the weekend, and is shaping up to be bigger and better than ever.
The event, which runs until Friday 26 July, celebrates the joining of winter and chocolate in Dunedin and will host more than 50 events with something for everyone – including many free events for families during the school holidays.
Highlights for the 2013 Dunedin Cadbury Chocolate Carnival include the ever popular Crunchie Train ride, the Cadbury Couture Fashion Show and the Cadbury Jaffa Race. New events this year include the Cadbury World Adventure Quest and the City of Chocolate Tours.
The Cadbury Carnival Fun Day was opened by the Joyville Mayor as he presented Dunedin Mayor, Dave Cull a chocolate key to officially unlock the Joyville portal at Meridian Mall on Saturday July 20. There was, and continue to be throughout the week, an array of tempting delights for people to experience including a chocolate tempering demonstration and plenty of delicious liquid chocolate to sample in a truly Joyville inspired environment.
The world famous Cadbury Jaffa Race will take place on Friday 26 July at 11am, with Parents Centres NZ and Make a Wish being this year’s organisers and beneficiaries. The races culminate with the World’s Steepest Street Party with loads of family fun, music and entertainment.
