Snooze…and You Win

Nearly 350 New Zealanders have so far applied for the dream job where you earn while you sleep.

Bed manufacturer Sealy NZ has launched a nationwide promotion to find a sleep ambassador, someone who enjoys a settled snooze and is happy to write about it.

The successful sleep ambassador picks up a slumber package worth more than $10,000.

With entries closing on Monday (12 August) at 5pm, the company has already had 344 Kiwis registering for the lie down task.

To become one of nine finalists, entrants need to convince the judging panel as to why they would be the dream sleep ambassador. The winner will be chosen by public vote and announced on August 26.

The promotion is underway now at www.sealy.co.nz and the winner is required to keep a sleep journal, offer product feedback and blog about the experience.

The prize package includes a top-of-the-range Sealy Posturepedic bed, worth $5,699, linen from Wallace Cotton, an iPad and $100 a night for the month of September.

It remains to be seen if announcements today will better protect children, but the National Government is forgoing an opportunity to really help kids by ignoring the elephant in the room, which is poverty, Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei says.
