Investigation under way after body found in Woolston
Christchurch Police have cordoned off an area
alongside the Heathcote River
in Woolston following the
discovery of a body this morning.
A member of the public
contacted Police shortly after 9.00am to report seeing
a
body on the riverbank near Catherine Street. The body is
believed to be
that of a male.
Cordons are in place
at Catherine Street, Maronan Street, Connal Street and
on walkways in the vicinity.
A Police investigation
into the death is now under way. Police are not yet in
a
position to say whether there are any suspicious
circumstances involved.
