Helicopter assists in search for elderly
woman.
This evening the Tauranga based TrustPower
TECT rescue helicopter was called to help search for a
missing 79 woman. The Whangamata women's car was found today
at Bowentown near Waihi Beach, Police and SAR initiated a
search of the surrounding area, the helicopter was called to
search the rugged coastline at Bowentown heads and and some
of the coastline toward Waihi Beach, Matakana Is and inner
harbour shoreline near Athenree. Nothing was found.

It remains to be seen if announcements today will better protect children, but the National Government is forgoing an opportunity to really help kids by ignoring the elephant in the room, which is poverty, Green Party Co-leader Metiria Turei says.
