At about 11:30pm, on Wednesday the 4th of September 2013, Police and St John Ambulance staff, have responded to a serious assault, in Myers Park, Auckland Central.
As a result of the assault, the male victim has sustained serious, life threatening injuries and was transported to Auckland Hospital, Status 1 (Immediate Threat to Life).
At hospital, medical staff have worked on the victim, to save his life but sadly he has died, as a result of the serious assault wound.
Police have secured the environs of Myers Park, as a crime scene and a homicide investigation in now underway.
Witnesses have observed a suspect, run up Myers Park, towards Karangahape Road.
The description of the suspect is as follows:
Possibly a Male of medium build and short. Wearing a white hat, cream top and black/dark coloured jeans.
Police are seeking information from anyone who was in the Myers Park area, between 11:00pm - 11:45pm last evening, who may have witnessed the assault and/or anyone fitting the general description of the suspect.
