Updates to National Volunteering Conference Programme
Volunteering New Zealand (VNZ) this week released an update of the programme for their 2013 national conference held on 19-20 November at Te Papa in Wellington.
The conference Collaborative Kōrero – Partnership & Impact in Volunteering will host a series of kōrero (conversations), as well as traditional plenary and keynote sessions, case studies, workshops and panel discussions.
Vanisa Dhiru CEO of Volunteering New Zealand says that although the programme looks different from previous years, there will be learning sessions, face-to-face engagement and inspiring speakers.
“The conference is going to be highly collaborative and engaging. We hope the programme will inspire participants to stay involved in volunteering,” says Vanisa.
Sessions have been designed around key topic areas delegates expressed interest in. The sessions include:
• He Tangata: The People of Aotearoa
• Let's work with our untapped resources
• Practical Volunteer Management
• Volunteer and paid staff – the same or different?
• Social + Tech = an ‘ology’ for thinking
• Living and Breathing technology
• Sharing visions: Imagine that 'place' for volunteering
• Demystifying business friends
• Measuring impact, who and how?
• Creating the future for volunteering
Speakers for the main keynote sessions will be announced shortly.
Online registrations and more information about Collaborative Kōrero can be found at www.collaborativekorero.org.nz. Early bird registrations are available until 27 September.
