Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Judges in for a busy time

MEDIA RELEASE

Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Judges in for a busy time!

“Now that nominations for the 2014 Awards have closed,”  National Awards Manager, Glyn Taylor said “our attention is now focused on the judging phase and there is no doubt that given the outstanding number of high calibre nominations, the judges face a significant challenge to find the winners.”

Nominations for the each of the six Awards Categories of the 2014 Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards opened in June and once again nominations represent a diversity of Kiwi ingenuity and endeavour. “We invited people to share their stories of inspirational Kiwis and that is exactly what they have done” said Taylor “In the last week or so there has been serious support for Team NZ which, given that the events in San Francisco brought the nation together in such a dramatic way, is not surprising if not a little unique for our Awards. Those events aside, we are excited and very happy with the high quality of nominations received and extend a huge thank you to those who have taken the time to complete the nomination process”

Judging will be completed by independent judging panels and will commence over the next two weeks with the first winners of the Kiwibank Local Heroes being announced at 9 regional presentation ceremonies commencing in Tauranga on November 18.

New Zealanders were invited to nominate an individual or a community organisation in one or more of the following six categories:-
