Homicide investigation in Taupo

At approximately 3.20am this morning (Friday, 11 October) there was an altercation at the corner of Rifle Range Road and Hinekura Avennue, Taupo.

One man involved in that incident has died. It is still to be confirmed whether he died on the way to hopsital or on arrival at hospital as medical staff endeavoured to help him.

The area of the incident has been cordoned off and Taupo Police have launched a homicide investigation.

This is the only information available at this time and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
