Northwestern delays in
Auckland
The NZ Transport Agency says it is planning
to re-open the two westbound lanes of Auckland’s
Northwestern Motorway (State Highway 16) at half-past-ten
this morning.
Two of the three lanes were closed early
this morning when a gantry sign over the motorway was
accidently hit by a machine installing safety barriers along
the edge of the motorway.
The accident occurred 500 metres
west of the Great North Road interchange. No one was
injured.
The Transport Agency says there are some
delays for westbound traffic while the damaged sign is
removed. All eastbound lanes on the motorway remain open.
