Two charged after assault in park

Two men have been jointly charged with Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm in relation to an attack on a man in Anzac Park in Nelson yesterday.
The pair, aged 29 and 32, will appear in the Nelson District Court today.
Police still want to speak to other people who were present at the time the assault took place.
Detective Sergeant Lex Brunning said police received several calls from people who witnessed the attack.
"We're very grateful to those people for calling Police immediately and we are working our way through the interviews with those witnesses," he said.
Police will today speak with the 53 year old victim of the assault. He remains in Nelson Hospital.
