Popular warm home for sale

Popular warm home for sale

The popular High Performance Home at HIVE is being sold by Beacon Pathway on 30 October with an auction by Harcourts Holmwood Real Estate. The home has been visited by over 5000 people since it opened its doors to the public at the Prefab NZ’s Home Innovation Village (HIVE) in March.

The house was the first trial of the new Warmframe™ building system, which has been developed in collaboration between industry partners New Zealand Steel, Frametek-RFS, InsulPro, Fletcher Window and Door Systems, and Resene, and facilitated by Beacon Pathway.

“This fabulous home is a showcase for new technology to create a more energy and water efficient home using sustainable and healthy products and features that create warm even temperatures throughout,” said Nick Collins from Beacon Pathway.

Packed with energy and water saving features and quality finishes, this highly insulated and well-designed home will provide good value for years to come.
“And a home that performs well means reduced operating costs – lower power bills, lower heating bills – and being a healthy comfortable home – warm, dry and wonderful.”
The 100m2 house is a single level pavilion, stand-alone residence with two bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, kitchen, living and dining rooms.

“There is the opportunity to link in further pavilions to provide more space in the future,” said Nick Collins.

Features of the house for sale include a rainwater tank, solar hot water system, solar photovoltaics, super insulated floor, walls and ceiling and a pellet burner and will be sold with blinds and the surrounding deck. The 100m2 home was built off-site in 10 weeks and moved to the site at the Home Innovation Village overnight.

Since being open to the public, the performance of Warmframe has been monitored, together with temperature and humidity. The project is part of a wider programme of innovation which aims to find housing solutions which are high performing, modular and suited to producing volume housing, but also reduce the time and cost of construction.

The High Performance Home at HIVE is being sold by Harcourts Holmwood on behalf of Beacon Pathway on Wednesday 30 October 2103 at 2pm (unless sold prior) at Russley Golf Club, 428 Memorial Ave, Christchurch. Contact Steven Marshall, Harcourts Holmwood Real Estate, on 03 355 6116 or 027 433 0401. The proceeds of the sale will go to repaying the partners in the project after meeting the cost of remediating site and commission on sale.
