Man charged with rape, abduction

An 18-year old Christchurch man will appear in the Christchurch District Court today on rape and abduction charges in relation to two incidents on Saturday night and Sunday morning.
The man faces charges of rape of a female over 16, rape of a female under 12, and abduction for sex of a girl under 12.
Detective Sergeant Jason Stewart says additional charges are likely.
Police are continuing to ask for any sightings of two vehicles believed to have been involved in the incidents.
Anyone who saw a white Nissan Primera saloon, in and around Pound Road and Christchurch Airport late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, or a blue Subaru Legacy saloon in the Loburn and North Canterbury area on Sunday morning, is asked to contact Christchurch Central Police on (03) 3637400.
