At
approximately 1408hrs Sunday 13 October a 25 year old male
lost control of his motorcycle on James Cook Drive at the
intersection of Shoal Place, Whitby while fleeing from
Police. The male received serious injuries and was taken to
Wellington Hospital. His condition is described as
critical. The Serious Crash Unit are investigating and the
matter will be referred to the Independent Police Conduct
Authority.
