Wairarapa Police seeking witnesses to weekend assault
Wairarapa Police are seeking information about and any witnesses to a serious assault that occurred in Perry Street, Masterton, just after 5.30pm on Saturday 12 October 2013.
A 75-year-old Indian male was walking east along Perry Street, past number 37, when he was confronted by a male and female who demanded money from him. He was punched multiple times to the face and head causing injuries which required hospital treatment.
After the assault the offenders ran off towards Cole Street and have not been located since.
The male is described as Caucasian, approximately 18 years old and of slim build. We was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with some form of pattern or writing on the front and long pants.
The female is described as Maori, approximately 18 years old with a slim build and black hair in a bun. She was wearing a long sleeved dark patterned top, dark long pants and carrying a satchel type bag.
Police are encouraging any further witnesses or anyone with information about this assault to contact the Masterton Police Station on (06) 370 0300.
