Crown Relocations' greatest ever ‘Big Sallie Surprise'

PRESS RELEASE

Crown Relocations announce their greatest ever ‘BIG SALLIE SURPRISE’

We are delighted to announce that Crown Relocations have teamed up with the championship winning basketball team the SKYCITY Breakers in support of The Salvation Army food banks right when they need it the most, just before Christmas

“Sadly many families will do it tough this Christmas and more families than ever are seeking our support for the first time” Public Relations Director Shane Chisholm of The Salvation Army.

Here’s how it will work. Crown has taken out a game night sponsorship of the SKYCITY Breakers vs Adelaide 36’ers fixture to be played at the Vector Arena on November the 15th. The event will serve as a ‘Big Sallie Surprise’ fundraiser for The Salvation Army food banks.

In the month leading up to the event Crown will be out there asking like minded individuals, companies and the extended Crown family to join us in support of this event. On game night the Vector crowd will have an opportunity to give back by purchasing cans of food for a dollar and donating them to the Sallies. There will also be a Crown truck parked in the courtyard so fans can bring a can and drop it off on their way into the venue. The amazing thing is that for every can purchased for a dollar (either before or at the event) the SKYCITY Breakers are matching it with a donated can of their own.

As our community partner of choice The Salvation Army inspire us every day with their commitment to caring for those less fortunate. The Sallies have been fighting poverty in New Zealand since 1883 and are entirely dependant on donations, grants and public funding. Annually they provide counselling, emergency and community services to over 120,000 kiwis and their families. The Sallie food banks are at the heart of their efforts, they are supporting thousands of food-insecure households who struggle to feed themselves and their children.

Crown Relocations are humbled and grateful that the SKYCITY Breakers have provided an opportunity for us to deliver our greatest ever ‘Big Sallie Surprise. Without their generosity and support this event would not be possible. Through the combined efforts of all involved we are looking for over 40,000 cans of foodstuff and $30,000 in donated non perishable product. Every food basket and every can donated will go straight to the Sallies food bank, where it will be stored, sorted and distributed to those who need it most, just before Christmas.
