CCDU Market Update

Companies have been short-listed for construction of central Christchurch’s Avon River Precinct and North and East Frames.

After an Expressions of Interest process in which 19 responses were received, the following companies will be able to tender for nine separate contracts offered progressively over the next 12 months:

· Hawkins Infrastructure Limited

· HEB Construction Limited

· John Fillmore Construction Limited

· Downer NZ Limited

· Fulton Hogan Limited

· Fletcher Construction Co Ltd

· City Care Limited

The Avon River Precinct and North and East Frames are priority anchor projects in the Christchurch Central Recovery Plan. More information on the anchor projects can be found at ccdu.govt.nz.

The first stage of the Avon River Precinct, Watermark, was officially opened in August, with the public invited to give its views.

Meanwhile, the Christchurch Central Development Unit (CCDU) is seeking an insurance broker to assess and apply insurance coverage across the anchor projects. Responses to the Request for Proposal for insurance broker services are due by 11 November 2013.

The CCDU is also seeking proposals for Architectural and Urban Design Services for the Retail Precinct, with the chosen provider to produce a Retail Precinct Plan that provides the best possible environment for private sector development. Responses are due by 21 October 2013.
