Registrations & sponsorship flowing for run

MEDIA RELEASE: 28 October 2013
Registrations & sponsorship flowing in for The Web Genius Kapiti Run for Youth
Sunday 10 November

Richard Calkin of Web Genius is excited as 300 people have signed up to run or walk Kapiti Run for Youth and online sponsorship is flowing in. Richard says, “compared to last year we are ahead when it comes to registration numbers and money in the bank through sponsorship.” Richard is hopeful that the event will raise more than last year’s total that was donated to Youth Quest (which was $12,000).

This year the event has grown to incorporate other funding raising partners. This means if you are part of a Kapiti-based school, group, team, club or organisation, you can get involved with Kapiti Run for Youth to raise money for Youth Quest and for your own cause. Each fundraising partner will receive back 40% of funds raised by the group. Fundraising partners registered so far include:

1. Kapiti Youth Support
2. Air Training Corps
3. Activate Youth
4. Kapiti Hockey P2 Men's Team
5. Kapiti Basketball Association
6. Monisha's Outward Bound Fund
7. Paraparaumu College Parent Group
8. Kapiti Boxing Club
9. Kenakena School Boys Mentoring Group
10. Challenge 2000

In addition to fundraising partners there are 20 groups of all sizes taking part in the event and numerous individuals who have registered to give back to their community. It is not too late to register, just go online to the web site to register or to sponsor someone that you know is participating, www.kapitirunforyouth.co.nz
