KPMG broadens commitment to the South Island with two new appointments

Leading professional services company, KPMG, is deepening its commitment to the South Island with the appointment of two new partners to its growing Christchurch office.

“KPMG is focused on meeting the needs of our clients through investing in capability across the firm,” said KPMG Office Managing Partner, Alex Skinner.
“I am pleased to announce that new partners Peter Taylor and Benjamin Badger will add to our vibrant and well-qualified Christchurch team.

“Benjamin’s recruitment allows us to improve our service offering across the business, while Peter’s appointment is building on the strength and abilities that have contributed to our on-going success.”

Peter joined KPMG in 2001 following a secondment to KPMG London in the financial services team and has been senior audit manager in Christchurch since 2008.

“Peter is an outstanding professional who brings an exceptional breadth of experience to the position and his appointment as partner will further boost our leadership in the audit division.

Benjamin joins KPMG from ASB where he held the position of Senior Commercial Manager.  He brings significant experience and market knowledge across a number of sectors including engineering and construction, healthcare, manufacturing, supermarket, retail, wholesale and franchising. 

“Benjamin joins us at a time when we’re experiencing strong growth in our Private Enterprise division,” said KPMG Christchurch, Private Enterprise Partner, Andrew Hawkes.

“We understand that our clients need a comprehensive approach to business and banking needs and in order to be successful, we must draw on the skills and expertise of individuals across a range of sectors. 

“Bringing in a partner from the commercial banking sector broadens our Private Enterprise expertise, bringing a different perspective and set of skills that will enhance our ability to help clients achieve their business and growth objectives.”

These appointments take the number of Christchurch partners up to five and total South Island staff to ----.
