Harcourt Park Paddling Pool reopens for summer on 27 November
An upgraded summer water play area for young families reopens in Harcourt Park next week.
UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 22 NOV 2013—The Toddlers Paddling Pool at Harcourt Park will reopen for the summer next week. The pool’s usual 16 week opening period was extended last summer after dry weather well into late March. The same could happen again this season if the weather keeps up a similar pattern.
The paddling pool’s fence has recently been replaced as well as seating around the pool. The area also includes picnic tables and shade trees. A free electric BBQ sits just outside this area.
The pool itself has jet spray water features which are popular with children. They will be in operation during the day and evenings.
The pool area is complemented by nearby free car parking, two adventure playgrounds, and is surrounded by the beauty of the park’s trees and scenery.
Set alongside the Hutt River, Harcourt Park is also home to various outdoor concerts and events, a disc golf course, three Lord of the Rings film locations, and a children’s learn-to-ride cycle track. The adjacent Harcourt Holiday Park offers a wide range of accommodation, from motel units to tent sites.
This pool is not staffed, so parental supervision is required for all children in the pool area. Upper Hutt City Council advises families to be sun-smart and requests that users keep the area clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.
