‘Hope after Haiyan Typhoon Relief Concert’ Cancelled

UNICEF NZ regrets to announce that the Hope After Haiyan Typhoon Relief concert scheduled for this Saturday, 30 November, in Wellington has been cancelled.

Headline act Aaradhna is sick with throat problems and is therefore unable to perform at the weekend. With less than five days to go until the concert, the organisers took the difficult decision to cancel the event. UNICEF NZ wishes Aaradhna a speedy recovery.

Thanks must go to the event organisers, Southern Collective Music and LendYourLtd, as well as the artists, businesses and individuals who came together to offer corporate sponsorship, pro bono creative work and other in-kind support.

Ticket refunds are available by contacting Ticketek.

For those who planned to attend the concert and wish to support the Philippines, this Saturday (30 November) PASKO, the Filipino Christmas Festival, is being held at Lower Hutt Sacred Heart College from 11:00 AM to 9 PM.

Organised by the Philippine Embassy and Filipino community, the Festival will showcase Filipino culture through food, music, craft workshops, and performances. Money raised will go to UNICEF’s Philippines Appeal as well as to other nominated charities.

Donations can also be made to UNICEF NZ’s appeal for the Philippines at www.unicef.org.nz/Philippines
