Expressions of Interest open for Creative Communities NZ

Creative New Zealand is the national arts development agency. Creative Communities Upper Hutt City is offering the community the opportunity to join the assessment committee and be at the heart of the success of the Creative Communities scheme. 

UPPER HUTT, Wellington NZ, 28 NOV 2013—Are you passionate about the arts in Upper Hutt? Creative New Zealand is the national arts development agency, developing investing in and advocating for the arts. The vision of Creative Communities NZ is to help develop strong and dynamic New Zealand arts which are valued in Aotearoa and internationally.

Creative Communities Upper Hutt supports and encourages the community to create and present diverse opportunities for accessing and participating in local art activities. In 2013, there was $31.290.00 available to distribute for Upper Hutt arts projects granted to the city by Creative New Zealand.

Creative Communities Upper Hutt City is offering the community the opportunity to join the assessment committee and be at the heart of the success of the Creative Communities scheme. “The main role of a committee member is to assess applications and allocate funding. Committee members are required to have a broad knowledge of the local arts environment and be passionate about increasing accessibility and diverse opportunities” says Council’s Funding Administrator, Melanie Baxter. “The city is looking for a fresh team of community members to assist with this aspect of arts funding in Upper Hutt, and we are currently seeking applications from interested community members to serve a three year term.”

Applications are due by 17 January 2014 and should consist of a letter covering your interest and expertise in the arts, in addition to a brief resume. Applications can be sent to Council at Private Bag 907, Upper Hutt, or emailed direct to funding@uhcc.govt.nz
