Auckland Disability Law Manager

A vacancy exists for the Manager at Auckland Disability Law (ADL). This is a permanent full-time position based at our Mangere office.

The Manager will have responsibility for staff management and day to day operation of the ADL office. This role leads ADL’s legal service delivery and includes the direct delivery of some legal education. The Manager is also responsible for securing and coordinating service and project funding. The Manager needs to maintain good networks with the disability community, community law, legal profession and other stake holders. The role reports to the ADL governance group. The manager must be able to work with a governance group.

ADL is the only community law centre in Aotearoa New Zealand which provides specialist disability legal advice and services for disabled people, their families and care givers. At present ADL provides these services in the greater Auckland region. ADL also aims to continue to provide law reform and community advocacy within the disability community, community law sector, and public domain. It is a key part of the Manager’s role to secure the continuation of this work. ADL has aspirations to extend specialist disability legal services beyond Auckland. The Manager, in conjunction with the ADL governance group, will focus on this in the medium term.
