Name released in fatal crash near
Tuesday, 3 December 2013 -
Police have released the name of the
driver killed in the road crash in the Mackenzie Country on
Saturday afternoon 30 November.
Taewook Kim, aged 26
years, from the Republic of Korea, was killed instantly when
the vehicle he was driving on State Highway 80 (Aoraki/Mt
Cook Road) failed to give way at the intersection with State
Highway 8, and pulled out directly into the path of a
passing heavy motor vehicle.
The passenger in the vehicle,
Jeogsu Kim (not related), currently remains in a critical
condition at Christchurch Hospital after being transferred
there by the Westpac Rescue

8/3: International Women’s Day Celebrated Around New Zealand
As women celebrate March 8th, International Women’s Day, in 23 events around New Zealand, it’s timely to reflect on the fact less than a third of our Members of Parliament are women, and that occupations that women dominate, such as caregivers, are amongst the lowest paid in New Zealand, Sue Kedgley, President of UN Women NZ said today.
“We hope that women’s issues will become prominent during election year and that all political parties will commit to policies that promote gender equity in New Zealand,” Ms Kedgley said.
