"Injury accident on SH1 - Manakau, horowhenua - Central"

Emergency Services are on the scene of a motor vehicle crash on SH1 near Manakau in the Horowhenua area. This was reported to police at 4.20pm A bus has hit a motorcycle on the over bridge that crosses the railway line. This is near Whakahoro Road.

The motorcyclists has been very lucky to survive and has received moderate injuries to his lower back and lacerations to his body. There are no reports of anyone on the bus being injured.

There will be significant delays as emergency services deal with the crash scene. There are no diversions available due to the location and it is hoped to at least have both lanes open within the next 10minutes. The bus is a commercial bus but it is unknown which direction it was travelling or how many passengers are on board.
