Police officers threatened with pistol


A search is currently in progress in the Mount Wellington area after two Police officers were threatened by a man armed with a handgun.

At about 6:25pm two officers on patrol in Ruawai Road Mount Wellington stopped and spoke to a man who was acting in a suspicious manner.
The man presented black handgun and threatened the officers before running off through residential properties.

Police have established cordons and are looking for a man aged in his late 20s- early 30s, wearing a black fleece jacket, black pants and sneakers.
He is about 180cm (6ft) tall and has short hair.

Anyone in the area who has seen anyone fitting this description is asked to call police on 111 and not to approach him.
