Nelson man stabbed multiple times

A 53 year old Nelson man is in a stable condition in hospital after receiving multiple stab wounds at his home in Tahunanui last night.

About 10pm the victim was in bed when a man arrived at the address and attacked him, stabbing him at least 10 times in the back, arms and legs.

The victim managed to get away and ran to a neighbour's house. Police were called and found the offender still at the address.

After a struggle he was arrested and taken into custody.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
