Man charged after Nelson stabbing

A 41 year old man has been charged in relation to an incident in which a 53 year old man was stabbed multiple times at his Tahunanui home last night.

The 41 year old has been charged with Wounding with Intent to Cause Grievous Bodily Harm and two counts of Assaulting a Police Officer. He has been remanded in custody until Monday.

The victim remains in Nelson Hospital and is yet to be interviewed.

Police have today completed the scene examination. They have also confirmed the men were known to each other.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing.
