Search resumes for German tourist

The search for a German tourist in the Travers Saddle area of Nelson Lakes National Park has resumed this morning.

A backpack belonging to Christian Ulf Erik PREHN was located last Saturday beside a track in the area however inquiries reveal it may have been there since 25 February.

Search coordinator Senior Constable Dave Colville said three search teams were being flown into the Travers Saddle area this morning and would remain there until they had completed all of their taskings. The searchers are all equipped for an overnight stay if required.
