Man arrested after Mount Maunganui Abduction
Police
investigating an incident in Mount Maunganui in the early
hours of Saturday morning have identified and arrested the
man believed responsible.
Security footage of a man and a vehicle were circulated publicly yesterday. Meanwhile police continued with a number of enquiries which resulted in an individual being nominated as a possible suspect.
This morning a 35-year-old man from New Plymouth was arrested at a motel in Mount Maunganui. He has been charged with abducting a woman for sex and will appear at Tauranga District Court tomorrow.
