Serious motor vehicle collision - State Highway 25

*"Serious motor vehicle collision - State Highway 25 - Waikato"*

Serious Road Collision.

Police are in attendance at a serious vehicle collision on State Highway 25 just north of the Hot Water Beach intersection on the Coromandel Peninsula.

At least one person has been seriously injured and a helicopter is being deployed to assist with transport of the injured.

Fire are also in attendance.

A diversion is currently being established for traffic on State Highway 25.

North bound traffic travelling to Whitianga will be diverted from the State Highway at Kyod Corner Road before entering Parakatu Road then onto Pig Run Road for a short distance before entering an unnamed road up to Kapowai Road.

Traffic will then be able to rejoin the State Highway on the northern side of the incident scene.

South bound traffic will need to take the same route commencing at the Kapowai Road diversion.

Police anticipate the road will be closed for at least two hours.

No further details of the incident are available at this time.
